Community Works Campaign
Dear Colleagues,
The Community Works organizing committee is excited to announce the beginning of our 20th annual Community Works fundraising campaign!
This particular time is unique in our history with the COVID pandemic limiting our time together on campus and economic and social unrest being experienced in our local community and across the nation. Our committee discussed the challenges of fundraising mostly online and through email but we decided that the situation we see required us to set a challenge for ourselves in terms of generosity. We have established a goal of $80,000 which is $5,000 higher than last year’s goal and also set a goal of increasing the number of donors. We need your help to meet the needs of our neighbors in the Hudson Valley.
Please support the ten local non-profit organizations selected based upon your nominations. These agencies have demonstrated their ability to address important community needs such as health, mental health, food assistance, community building, assisting those leaving prison, teaching non-violence, and domestic abuse. Each organization receives an equal share of the Community Works funds raised. One hundred percent of the contributions go directly to the agencies as Vassar assumes all the administrative costs of the campaign. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution via payroll deduction, credit card, or check. Please visit our website communityworks.vassar.edu to make a contribution. Credit card and payroll deductions will be made through the website and for a check contribution please complete and print the form on the website and submit that and the check to Community Works, Vassar College, 124 Raymond Ave Box 43, Poughkeepsie, NY 12604.
For payroll deductions please submit your pledge form by December 15th.
All contributions are important no matter the amount.
